Municipality of Lukovit is situated at transitional region, between The Danube Plain and Fore Balkan. Moderate climate, multifarious soils.

Flora

The tree vegetations are mostly compound plantations as Beech (Fagus), Oak (Quercus) and Blatun. In some regions are growing: wild cyclamen, mountain savory, alpine rose, ivy liana, yellow milfoil, black hawthorn.

Fauna

Common animals are: badger, vixen, hare, jackal, deer, hog, tortoise, bat, some snake’s breeds too. Birds: crow, wild duck, cuckoo, hawk (Accipilter), falcon (Falco), white stork (ciconia), swan, pheasant, partridge, swallow, sparrow.
